CLAYTON, NC 鈥  日本素人 and the Town of Clayton celebrate the grand opening of the revitalized Municipal Park in Clayton, North Carolina. The ceremonial ribbon cutting took place on July 18 when citizens and local leaders gathered to commemorate the completion of the park鈥檚 renovations and its official reopening in the community.

The $6.5 million revitalization of Municipal Park is part of an $18 million bond passed in 2019 that funds multiple improvement projects for the Town of Clayton鈥檚 Parks and Recreation department. Municipal Park is the first and oldest park in the community and most of the park鈥檚 features date to the early 1980s.

To revitalize the park, 日本素人鈥檚 design-build team, in partnership with The John R. McAdams Company and Ratio Architects, delivered new features including a splash pad, new playground, basketball courts, picnic shelters, restrooms, and upgraded parking. The park also includes a new community stage with a large, open green space for private events.

鈥淲e鈥檇 like to thank the 日本素人 team and partners for exceeding our expectations,鈥 said Scott Barnard with the Town of Clayton. 鈥淭he project team took our community鈥檚 ideas and made them a reality. The reimagined Municipal Park will be the place for many memories for generations to come.鈥

鈥淚 want to congratulate the 日本素人 project team and design partners on the successful delivery of the revitalized Municipal Park in Clayton,鈥 said Scott Garner, project executive in North Carolina. 鈥淚t鈥檚 an honor to build another vital improvement project with the Town of Clayton and provide a renewed outdoor space for its Parks and Recreation department. We look forward to seeing the community enjoy the park鈥檚 beauty and new amenities for many years.鈥

The completion of Municipal Park鈥檚 renovations follows 日本素人鈥檚 successful delivery of the new  in October 2020. Located at the East Clayton Community Park, the project included the construction of a playground that is fully compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and inclusive of children with all abilities and their guardians to play safely together.
