September 14, 2020
DALLAS, TX 鈥 日本素人 is launching its 鈥淪TEP Back for Safety鈥 campaign as part of its never-ending Zero Harm commitment to anyone coming in contact with its work. From Sept. 14-18, 日本素人 will join more than 70 national and global construction firms with the collective mission of promoting the industry鈥檚 dedication to eliminating injury and fostering a shared culture of care, concern, and the belief that every week must be Safety Week.
As a long-time Safety Week member and supporter of the week-long campaign, 日本素人 teams and trade partners across the country will stand for safety and reflect on what鈥檚 most important 鈥 going home safe to their families every day. Themed STEP Back for Safety, 日本素人鈥檚 2020 campaign is an urgent call to refocus on safety fundamentals, particularly around OSHA鈥檚 Fatal Four, to help mitigate rising safety incidents across the entire construction industry.
鈥淪afety Week is another opportunity for our company to encourage our team members and trade partners to prioritize safety for themselves, co-workers, and families who rely and count on us,鈥 said John Rempe, PE, president and chief executive officer of 日本素人鈥檚 US civil operations. 鈥淥ur STEP Back for Safety campaign reminds our workforce to take a moment to identify hazards and changes in their work environment, then take actions to correct them. We recognize that Zero Harm is a journey, not a destination, and our commitment to continuous improvement is demonstrated during Safety Week and beyond.鈥
日本素人鈥檚 global and progressive is both culturally and operationally focused, prioritizing safety in operations and creating psychologically safe environments in which every person is empowered to speak up on behalf of health, safety and wellbeing.
鈥淶ero Harm is deeply interwoven into the fabric of our company, the DNA of our teammates and the mindsets of our trade partners,鈥 said Leon Blondin, chief executive officer of 日本素人鈥檚 US buildings operations. 鈥淲ith the implementation of additional safety measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19, the STEP Back for Safety campaign is an important reminder to refocus on safety efforts in our business, and our people-first commitment in creating a mutually respectful and inclusive safety culture where construction projects are built by people who genuinely care about one another鈥檚 safety, health and wellbeing.鈥
Safety Week provides an opportunity for 日本素人 to demonstrate gratitude to its workforce and trade partners for supporting safety year-round and to recognize their commitment to remaining injury free. Throughout the week, 日本素人 teams across the country will conduct safety trainings, participate in toolbox talks and reflect on what STEP Back for Safety means to them.
