LAX Automated People Mover Project on Track
September 17, 2019
Since the financial close last year, ÈÕ±¾ËØÈË, as part of the LINXS joint venture team, has made significant progress in the development of the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) Automated People Mover project.
The first year focused on pre-construction activities such as utility relocations, geotechnical investigations and surveying as well as the development and approval of design packages. Following the project’s schedule, the team has recently secured permits from the Los Angeles Department of Building Safety to begin constructing two of the six stations along the 2.25-mile system—Intermodal Transportation Facility (ITF) West and East Central Terminal Area (CTA). Construction will begin at the end of September.
This month, the project celebrated the impressive safety milestone of more than 1 million incident-free hours. While focused predominantly on design to date, this achievement sets the right tone for the next stage of the project.

The $4.9 billion project is anticipated to be ready to connect LAX travelers with airline terminals, a new centralized rental car facility, and new pickup and drop-off locations with parking facilities in early 2023.
